How do I upload a FIT file?
Sometimes a workout doesn't sync automatically with REN — for example because your watch briefly lost connection, or because you ran with a borrowed device. No worries: you can also upload a FIT file manually.
Go to Settings → Connected Accounts and select the option to upload a FIT file. Pick the file from your phone and REN will process the workout automatically.
Where do I find my FIT file?
Most sports watches and apps allow you to export workouts as a FIT file. Where to find it depends on the brand:
- Garmin — Go to Garmin Connect (web), open the activity, and choose Export to FIT via the gear icon.
- COROS — In the COROS app, open an activity and use the share option to export the FIT file.
- Polar — Export via Polar Flow (web) under the activity details.
- Suunto — In the Suunto app, you can share activities as a FIT file.
- Apple Watch — Apple doesn't export to FIT by default. Use a third-party app like HealthFit or RunGap to export your workout as a FIT file.
What file formats are supported?
REN accepts files in the .fit format. This is the standard format used by virtually all sports watches. Other formats such as .gpx or .tcx are currently not supported.
When is a manual upload useful?
- Your workout didn't sync automatically.
- You ran with a watch that isn't directly connected to REN.
- You want to import an older workout after the fact.
How long does it take for my workout to appear?
After uploading, your workout is processed right away. You should see it in your training overview within a few seconds. If the workout doesn't appear, make sure you uploaded the correct file format (.fit) and try again.
