Yes — REN now supports a direct integration with Polar via Polar Flow.
What works with Polar
Sync activities from Polar to REN
With the Polar integration, REN can import your completed activities from Polar Flow into REN. That means your runs recorded on your Polar device can be used in REN without needing Apple Health as a middle step.
What doesn’t work (yet)
Sending workouts to Polar
REN currently cannot send structured workouts to Polar devices.
This is because Polar Flow doesn’t offer an API that supports sending workouts from third-party apps to Polar.
So:
- ✅ Polar → REN (activities sync): supported
- ❌ REN → Polar (workouts sync): not supported
Still required: feedback in REN
Even when your activity syncs in automatically, REN still relies on your post-workout feedback in the app (how it felt / self-evaluation). This helps REN adapt your plan correctly.
Optional: Apple Health as an indirect alternative (iPhone)
If you prefer, you can also sync Polar activities indirectly via Apple Health (HealthKit) (Polar Flow → Apple Health → REN).
Keep in mind:
- Not all activity data may be shared with REN through Apple Health (it can be more limited than direct sync).
- Apple Health also cannot send workouts to Polar.
Troubleshooting: Polar activity not showing correctly in REN (Apple Health route)
If you’re using Apple Health and your Polar activity shows in Health but is missing or incomplete in REN, it’s usually permissions, data source priority, or a sync issue.
1) Check that REN has permission to read the right Health data
- Open the Health app
- Tap your Profile (top right)
- Go to Apps → REN
- Make sure these are enabled (toggled on):
- Workouts
- Heart Rate
- Walking + Running Distance
- Running Speed (if available)
Tip: If you don’t see “Running Speed,” it may appear only after a few activities have been recorded in Apple Health.
2) Prioritize Polar Flow as the Health data source for key running metrics
- Open the Health app → Browse
- Open each metric below, then scroll to Data Sources & Access → Edit
- Drag Polar Flow to the top (highest priority) for each:
- Workouts
- Heart Rate
- Walking + Running Distance
- Running Speed (if available)
3) Trigger a manual sync in Polar Flow
- Open Polar Flow
- Go to More → General settings
- Under Apple Health, tap Sync Now (or the equivalent)
4) Refresh REN’s connection to Health
- Fully close REN and reopen it
- If needed, toggle Health access off/on:
- Health → Profile → Apps → REN → toggle permissions, then reopen REN
5) Restart & reinstall (last resort)
- Restart your iPhone and Polar device
- If it still doesn’t work, uninstall and reinstall Polar Flow, then re-enable Apple Health syncing (keep Health data when prompted)
6) Check for updates
- Update Polar device firmware
- Update Polar Flow
- Update REN
