Before you begin
REN doesn't use a separate email and password signup. You create your account by signing in with either your Apple ID or your Google account when you first download the app.
Which email is my account using? Check inside the app: go to Settings, then Email. If you signed in with Apple, note that Apple sometimes creates a private relay email as an alias for your real address, so the email shown may not look familiar.
Can I change my account email or reset my password? Not currently. Since your account is tied to your Apple or Google sign in, your password and email are managed at the Apple or Google level, not inside REN. To update either, go through your Apple ID or Google account settings directly.
Can I use REN on more than one device? Your account is linked to your Apple or Google sign in rather than to a single device, so signing into your account on a new device should bring your training data with it. REN doesn't currently offer family or shared memberships.
What to expect during onboarding
When you first open REN - after signing up - you'll go through a short onboarding process so we can tailor your training plan to your needs. Here's how it works:
- Choose your goal. Select a race or distance you want to prepare for: Start to Run (a 3 month beginner plan), or 5k, 10k, 15k, 10 miles, Half Marathon, or Marathon.
- Enter a personal best (optional). Share your current or past best time for any distance to help set realistic pacing and progress expectations. If you chose Start to Run, this step is skipped and you'll go straight to setting your availability instead, since there's no prior race time to base pacing on.
- Indicate your experience level. You'll be categorized as Beginner (running less than 1 year), Intermediate (1 to 3 years of consistent training), or Trained/Elite (3+ years of consistent training). You'll also be asked about training frequency (once a week, 2 to 3 times, or 4+ times), plus whether you do other endurance or core activities like cycling, yoga, or Pilates.
- Set your availability. Tell REN how many days a week you can train. This doesn't mean that REN will fill every day, but use this as a guideline to map you out the best training schedule to hit your goals, carefully factoring in training stress and load.
Once completed, REN will generate a current race prediction (if you didn’t choose “Start to Run”), as well as a predicted finish time at the end of your plan (with a margin of variation). Finally, you’ll get your personalized Training Plan.
