In REN, it’s not possible to train for multiple goals simultaneously.
Why Only One Goal?
Focus = Progress
Training plans are most effective when they are built around a single clear goal. Trying to prepare for several distances or races at the same time creates conflicting demands and reduces training efficiency.Better Recovery
Each goal (5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon, etc.) requires different training intensities and long-run durations. Mixing them dilutes your recovery and increases the risk of overtraining or injury.Sharper Performance
By committing to one goal, REN can make your training plan specific, progressive, and personalized, ensuring you reach the start line in the best possible shape.
How to Choose Your Goal
Think about your future race calendar, your available time, and your running experience. Pick the goal that excites you most — whether that’s your first 5K or a marathon PB.
Make Your Goal SMART
When setting your training goal in REN, we encourage you to make it SMART:
S – Specific: Choose one clear distance (e.g., Half Marathon).
M – Measurable: Define success (finishing, or targeting a certain time).
A – Achievable: Pick a goal that fits your experience and availability.
R – Realistic: Ambition is great, but the plan should fit your lifestyle.
T – Time-bound: Link your goal to a date (your race or a target event).
What If You Have Several Races?
Choose the most important race as your main goal.
REN will structure your training around that event.
Other shorter races can still be run along the way — they’ll simply serve as practice or tune-up events, not as separate training goals.
✅ Remember: REN believes in quality over quantity. Focusing on one goal at a time makes your training efficient, effective, and safe — helping you perform at your best when it matters most.
