After finishing a workout, REN not only asks for your RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion), but also how the session felt overall. This is done with a simple smiley scale.
What the Smiley Feedback Means
You’ll see five faces, ranging from negative to positive. Just tap the one that best matches your experience:
😢 Very bad – Felt awful, heavy legs, no energy
🙁 Bad – Below average, didn’t feel good
😐 Neutral – Okay, nothing special, just a normal run
🙂 Good – Felt strong, smooth, enjoyable effort
😍 Very good – Excellent, light legs, best-day feeling
Why REN Uses Smiley Feedback
Adds context to RPE: Two workouts can have the same RPE but feel very different depending on recovery, stress, or energy levels.
Tracks your wellbeing: The smileys give REN extra insight into your overall freshness and recovery.
Adapts your plan: If you regularly mark workouts as “bad” or “very bad,” REN will factor that in and adjust your training.
Tips for Using the Smiley Feedback
Go with your first instinct — don’t overthink.
Be honest. This feedback is for you, to help REN personalize your plan.
Use it consistently — over time, it builds a picture of how you’re responding to training.
✅ Remember: There’s no right or wrong answer here. The smileys are a quick way to tell REN how your body and mind felt during the workout — beyond the numbers.
